27th Annual Judicial Conference

Registration for the 27th Annual Judicial Conference has reached capacity and is now CLOSED.  If you would like to join the waiting list, please send an email to USCFC_JudicialConference@ao.uscourts.gov.  You will be notified by 5:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, November 13, if space becomes available to allow you to register.

CONFERENCE

The United States Court of Federal Claims 27th Annual Judicial Conference will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014.  Morning sessions will take place at the National Courts Building, 717 Madison Place, NW, with afternoon sessions and an evening reception at the W Hotel at 515 15th St., NW.

PANELS

The conference will offer panels that should be of interest to members of the bar who practice in all of the court's jurisdictional areas.  The panels this year will include the following topics, among others:

  • Military Disability Claims & Opportunities for Pro Bono Work in the Court
  • Life Care Plans:  Issues and Opportunities
  • Emerging Issues in Vaccine Damages Calculations
  • Attorney's Fees Under EAJA, FLSA, Uniform Relocation Assistance Act, and the Vaccine Act
  • Significant Cases in the Supreme Court and Federal Circuit
  • The Evolving Concept of "Property" in the Court of Federal Claims

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Kenneth R. Feinberg
The Court and the Court of Federal Claims Bar Association are especially pleased to announce that Kenneth R. Feinberg, Esq., will present the keynote address at the evening reception.  Mr. Feinberg, one of the nation's leaders in alternative dispute resolution, will discuss his experiences in resolving some of the most difficult cases of our day, including his work as the administrator of funds for victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks, the BP oil spill, and the Boston marathon bombings.

(or until maximum occupancy is reached, whichever comes first)

SPONSORSHIPS: Sponsors will receive prominent name placement on program materials and on placards during the Conference, on the court's website, and in the Bar Association's newsletter.

SCHOLARSHIPS: The bar association is offering a limited number of scholarships to attend the conference. Forms may be downloaded by clicking here. Once completed please return to sandy@cfcbar.org by midnight on November 3, 2014.

PLEASE NOTE: When choosing your registration ticket, please pay special attention to the description for each pricing level (government, private practice, member, non-member, etc). Please note that CFC Bar Association membership is not the same as admission to the Bar of the Court; you must be a current paid member of the CFC Bar Association to be eligible for the member rate.
